What are Antimicrobials

Antimicrobials are compounds that suppress the growth of odor and stain-causing bacteria, molds, mildews, and fungi on the treated surface or in the treated article. Antimicrobials may be organic or inorganic. Regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency in the United States and Canada, and several other agencies around the world, antimicrobials can be used in or on a wide variety of materials.

While antimicrobials are all used to achieve the same goal, their modes of operation differ. Not all antimicrobials provide the same properties. With more than 20 antimicrobial actives available, Sureshield offers the most comprehensive portfolio of antimicrobial compounds for the treatment of materials.

The antimicrobials used in Sureshield products are designed to last beyond the useful life of the materials they protect.
